Day 39 ~ What I Learned About HR Consulting Watching the World Series

I am not a huge baseball fan but I must admit I did get caught in the hype of the World Series.  The Red Sox pulled it out although it looked a little touch and go there for a moment.

I must thank my husband for assisting me with today’s post.  He is the sports fanatic and helped draw out some of the nuances.

  1. Get in the game ~ You have to go out and participate and be part of what it is that you say you want.  You are not going to hit anything sitting on the sidelines.
  2. Have the right coach ~ You may even need different coaches.  Just like there is a pitching coach, first, second, and third base coaches, you may need an HR Consulting Coach, Business Coach, Finance Coach, etc.
  3. Have a supportive team ~ Back to that community, find a group that will support, motivate, encourage and give you a swift kick (with love) when necessary.
  4. Preparation & Perseverance ~ Steve Pearce, World Series MVP has been with a total of seven different ball clubs.  He even had three stints with the same organization, the Baltimore Orioles.  In the World Series he hit several home runs.  That was not true for the majority of his career.  You are not going to hit a home run every time you are up at bat.  But if you keep swinging you can become the MVP of your own career.
